Fall: A Time to Let Go

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Fall, autumnNow that Fall has begun, it brings to mind – as I am watching the leaves falling off trees – that it is a time for shedding and letting go of thoughts, feelings, things and activities that no longer serve you well. As the fall leaves continue to float down to the ground, what is it that you have been holding onto that is holding you back? What can you let go of? Is it a habit of not nourishing your body with healthy foods on a regular basis? Is it lack of exercise? Is it holding onto past relationships that have held you back from being the best you that you can be?

I have some suggestions to help you release.

  1. Identify what to release. Reflect inside yourself and ask yourself, ‘Am I living my true core being in mind, body and spirit?’ Imagine standing back and looking at yourself… what would you tell or ask yourself?
Are you setting boundaries in your relationships personally and professionally? If you take a moment to look within; the answer will come to you and you will know in your mind, heart and soul what is preventing you from truly reaching your potential.
  2. Let go, physically. This is a time to let go of physical things. Physically clean out drawers and closets – it is refreshing and freeing! Also, go out for a brisk walk in nature. Breathe in the fresh air to re-energize and rejuvenate your body and mind!
  3. Let go, emotionally. Release emotionally by nurturing yourself spiritually with meditation, walking in nature, hypnotherapy, affirmations or gathering with other spiritually-minded people.

Here is to you being your best self!

The month of September is when most people get back into regular routines. With previous months of summertime, vacations, school kids at home, many times our routines are scrambled or put aside.  When you think of a routine, what comes to mind?  What comes to mind for me is that a routine should be geared toward being holistically balanced in mind, body and spirit. For example, what I do first thing in the morning is think of three or more people that I am grateful for and why I am grateful for them. I then, have some room-temperature water with a squeeze of lemon to alkalize my body and then I read spiritual and inspirational materials.  I begin my day on a positive note as I prepare my nourishing breakfast and small meals and snacks for the day. This helps me ease into the day regardless of my schedule.

My morning routine, which some people may call a morning ritual, sets a positive tone for the rest of the day. I encourage you to have a healthy, positive routine in the morning as the foundation of your day, and as you go through the day nourish and hydrate your body about every three hours to feel more balanced and healthier in your mind and your body.

Regardless of your schedule and responsibilities, it is vitally important to practice self-care; especially if you are being pulled in different directions with family, kids, work, etc. There needs to be some balance and grounding for yourself. You will feel more balanced throughout the day and you will be able to handle everything in life with more ease!

Here are some suggestions and tips for a positive morning routine:

  1. As soon as you wake up, lie still for a few moments and think of three or more people you are grateful for. Then take in some deep breaths, do a little stretching and slowly rise.
  2. Drink several ounces of room-temperature water.
  3. Read or listen to something pleasant and positive (music or inspirational or motivational materials, etc.)
  4. Have a nourishing, high-protein breakfast within an hour of awakening.
  5. Prepare water and food for the day: Drink plenty of water during the day and nourish your body with small nutritious meals and snacks every three hours throughout the day. When you prepare for the day, you prepare for success!

Our Women Transforming Women’s Second Art Workshop was wonderful! I love the way all of the ladies were so relaxed, happy, and creative. The ladies interacted with and inspired one another — it was so great! You could SEE what all of the women created on their canvases.  Here is what the ladies had to say about the workshop…

“Very peaceful, no improvements needed, do one again — great!”

“Meditation/imagery [was] very positive and uplifting!”

“Painting was fun and stress-relieving! It allowed me the opportunity to relax and express my feelings about what is important to me and makes me happy!”

“A very enjoyable and meaningful event!”

“It was well-organized and beautifully presented!”

“The most meaningful segment was the guided imagery and using art for stress management — wonderful!”

“Creating my own vision of something meaningful and putting a thought into something visible!”

“I felt calm and happy, like all the problems of the real world are gone.”

“Guided meditation was so meaningful — it got me thinking about my goals.”

“It was wonderful, feel-good, bonding experience with others.”

“It is so interesting to take a look into someone else’s mind and into my own.”

“Relaxing, [I] want more of this!”

“[The most meaningful was] when we visioned the ‘final scene’; wonderful, accomplished and feeling of gratitude for all I am doing.”

“It was done very professionally and on time.”

“Visualization; and to realize that I don’t have to be perfect, loved it! Got me out of my head!”

Do you feel the need to drink two or more cups of caffeinated coffee, tea or commercialized energy drinks every day? Do you ever feel foggy and/or like you are losing your energy either right after lunch or mid-afternoon? This is common amongst so many people, especially teens and adults.  Studies have shown that excess amounts of these kinds of beverages have a negative impact on the adrenal glands.energy

What if I told you there is a natural alternative that not only gives you a boost of energy, but is actually healthy for you? I was recently introduced to Vasayo™ “ENERGY” and gave it to my husband who, many times, has to drive several hundred miles in one day. The Vasayo™ ENERGY” gives him the natural boost he needs to keep him alert and focused on his driving with no jitters. Many athletes have experienced improved overall performance as well!

Hypnotherapy is also a natural alternative to give you the energy and drive to not only perform at your best but accomplish the tasks that will get you to where you want to be. Hypnotherapy relaxes your mind and body and channels the energy to optimize your efforts towards your goals and dreams.

Have you tried natural and medical pain relieving products for daily pain and have not experienced relief, or felt side effects? After over 20 years of high impact aerobics and weight training, my knees began to hurt and get inflamed. I then sought an orthopedic professional and he said that’s not really why I’m having pain. Due to some congenital skeletal issues, my sports orthopedic doctor recommended turmeric, glucosamine and fish oil, knowing I always want to use holistic, natural renewproducts whenever possible. After a few months of daily diligence, the pain was not completely relieved.

I was then introduced to Vasayo™ RENEW by my chiropractor and have been using it every morning and night with amazing results. I am no longer in pain or discomfort!

Relieve Pain CDMany of my clients seek my hypnotherapy services for pain and inflammation. You may wonder how hypnotherapy can affect the body’s pain receptors.  By uniting the mind and body, hypnotherapy allows the mind to heal the body and relieve and release pain and discomfort. The mind-body connection is more powerful than people realize.

When you combine hypnotherapy and Vasayo™ RENEW, it’s a wonderful, holistic combination to relieve pain, inflammation and discomfort!

Are You Struggling With the Following?

  • Lack of Restful Deep Replenishing Sleep? You can’t seem to quiet your mind … it’s always “thinking” and you’re not able to calm it down so you can fall asleep easily and quickly? Do you awaken more than once during the night? Do you wake up feeling tired?
  • Do You Lack Energy? Do you begin to feel tired right after lunch and/or mid-afternoon? Does caffeine give you the “jitters”?  You may grab a caffeinated beverage (coffee or energy drink  laden with chemicals), and it helps temporarily, but it’s not healthy for you. If you have caffeine this late in the day does it affect your sleep?

Whether or not you have ever drawn or painted before, it doesn’t matter because each and every one of us has an artist within! This past Saturday was our first Women Transforming Women’s “Inspiration & Imagination Art Workshop”!

We started the day with some light, healthy snacks and refreshments. Everyone received a worksheet to write down what they imagined, dreamed of, and visualized for their lives. This was followed by a guided imagery/meditation.  Then the participants picked their seat with their canvas and were able to choose all of the colors that they wanted to paint with!

It was so motivational and inspirational for me to see the Art and Imagination Workshopcreativity in all the participants! Here are some of the comments we received at the end of the day.

“Taking the time for me… loved it!”

“Excellent! Very calming- great workshop!”

“Time to myself for reflecting and thinking; relaxing!”

“Light, hopeful, collaborative.”

“The sharing of our work.” (sharing the story behind each painting)

“Good to see people going from fear to doing this and then completing something meaningful to them. It was great!”

“Using my hands and putting paint to canvas- exhilarating! It was excellent!”

“Allowing me to paint whatever I wanted was very freeing. An opportunity to allow self-expression.”

“I loved it! Perfection- could not be improved upon!”

In this day and age, and for many centuries, women have needed to bond together to support, empower Women Transforming Womenand inspire each other.  So many of we women wear multiple hats everyday. Those of us who either run our own business, work in a high position in a company, or whether we are at-home moms, we have so many responsibilities in addition to creating healthy, happy relationships with our partners, our children, our extended families and our colleagues.  So often, many of us may not have the time to get together with one of our girlfriends to just talk and reconnect.  Life is all about relationships and with many of our busy schedules, this important aspect is often overlooked.

I founded Women Transforming Women (WTW) to encourage, inspire, motivate and support women. We all have multifaceted aspects of our lives and sometimes we lose who we truly are. Trying to make everyone else happy, but what about us? I created the Women Transforming Women’s movement so that we could gather regularly to not only create long-lasting bonds, but to be there for one another. Ultimately, as we each inspire and encourage each other, we can all improve all aspects of our lives.

I had this idea in creating different workshops and events in the hope that WTW will continue to grow, flourish, expand and motivate others. WTW is a safe place for we women to gather, making new friends, reconnecting with old friends and acquaintances– maybe even partnering up in joint ventures!

I welcome each and every woman who seeks support, encouragement, inspiration and friendship to join the WTW movement. With each other’s support, anything and everything is possible!

True Love

When I think of February, I think about love– and the fact that it is also my son’s and my birthday, and National Heart Health Month!

In my opinion, true love is something that unfortunately many people aren’t experiencing lately.  There are so many distractions and expectations, obligations and tasks to tend to every day. With everything going on in your life, do you pause, take in some deep breaths and think about what true love means to you?

True love comes from within. You need to love yourself first in order to give love to others. When was the last time you looked in the mirror and told yourself, “I love you” or “I love ____ about you”? In our busy lives, sometimes we forget to love ourselves, to practice self care and be kind to ourselves.

I encourage you to take good care of your mind, your body, and your spirit. You can begin that process by being very mindful of the thoughts you think, the feelings you feel and the actions you take or do not take. Do your body a favor by eating small nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day and drinking lots of water. Participate in a fun physical activity to get your body moving. Nurture your spirit, whether you believe in a higher power or not. Do something that enriches and fulfills your soul.

Start each day by acknowledging something you like about yourself.  As you go about your daily activities, tell those you love and care about that you love them. Love comes in all sizes and shapes. When you are out and about, you may meet some people that you do not know– say something nice to them! Give them a compliment! Or simply say, “Have a nice day!” You may have made their day. There are many people out there that live by themselves and are not in contact with loved ones or who may have lost loved ones.  I encourage you to perform random acts of kindness everyday.

Come from your heart in all relationships, whether close or not. When you fill your heart with love, you have more love to give.

I want to wish you a happy Valentine’s Day and National Heart Health Month! Wishing you all the best!
