Since I was a very young child, I have always loved animals, especially dogs and cats. I also had a fish tank on our kitchen counter, and I would not only greet and feed my furry family every morning; but I would also lift the fishbowl tank top a little to pet my goldfish on their heads and give them their fish food every morning. Thankfully, my dear mother also loved animals; hence, I was raised to know that they are part of our close-knit family. When I married the love of my life, he had a dog as well.
You may already guess that I have always loved dogs, cats, and goldfish. They are so loving, and they want to please their family members. I raised my daughter and son with two Golden Retrievers. They lived to 16 and 16-1/2! When my kids grew up, and now have their own homes; they too, have two dogs each!
At the medical center I go to for my checkups and any procedures or surgeries, they often have special care dogs for the patients to pet them while they are waiting for their tests, diagnoses and/or procedures. The patients can pet the care dogs, which almost always soothes them from anxiety and worry.
When my husband and I met, he had one dog and I had two. They all lived to ripe old ages. They were a joy in our lives.
My hubby and I now have one Fox Red Labrador Retriever, “Lucy”! She is a bright light to us along with some mischievous shenanigans! If you are old enough to remember Lucille Ball and her funny times, that is how Lucy is when she is doing something she knows she shouldn’t!
I would love to hear from anyone else who cherishes their animal member families.
