SummertimeWhen you think of summer, what comes to mind? As a child, we always thought, “School’s almost out! I can’t wait to get out of school!” For most of us, summertime brings a lot of time outdoors, vacations and fun times with family and friends.

Summer does seem to go by quickly.

Here are some suggestions on how to stay in the moment and get the most out of every day!

  • When you wake up in the morning, begin your day with thinking of some of the people and things in your life that you are grateful for. Having an attitude of gratitude helps you to not only savor the moment but it also lifts your spirit!
  • In the morning, enjoy the fresh air and Vitamin D from the sunshine and go for a brisk walk or run! This will get your circulation going and create energy for the day. (Be sure to have your SPF on!)
  • Many of us as adults still have work days throughout the summer, but because we have longer hours of sunshine, plan something after work that is relaxing and enjoyable. (Preferably outdoors!)
  • If you enjoy music and social outings, there are many outdoor concerts during the summer. You can check your local newspaper or Chamber of Commerce. A sense of community can help relieve stress and create lasting memories!
